With over fifteen years experience in Biotechnology I have managed groups taking medical research from bench-top to bedside. Acting as a Scientist and Study Director, I have seen projects successfully submit INDs and enter human clinical trials. In often parallel tracks, I happened to run the labs small IT department under the FDA's Part 21 compliance, and have spent several years since that time working in healthcare IT for clinical practices. Currently, working Technical Support for Molecular Devices, I am responsible for support three instrument platforms: All single and multimode spectrophotometers (Spectramax line, Filtermax line, i3x/iD3, etc.) High Content Screening (HCS)/Imaging (IXM line of automated microscopes, Nano, etc.) Bioproduction Automation (QPix bacterial/yeast robotic colony pickers, CP2 hybridoma/CHO robotic pickers) Related Software: MetaXpress Automated Image Analysis and Acquisition (IXM), Softmax Pro (IC50, PLA, etc.) Selected Molecular Biology Skills: Gene/protein exp. (RT-PCR, Northern, gene array analysis, quant. Westerns, ELISA, dot blots, etc.), antibody generation/characterization, immunoprecipitation. Cell culture: epithelial, carcinoma, neuronal, ES cells, 3D/encapsulation, transfection, stable cell line generation, RNAi, lentivirus design/production/infection. Cellular biology: live cell imaging, transport, axon/dendrite outgrowth/branching, FACS analysis and cell sorting Microscopy: IHC, IF Selected IT Interests: PACS Admin (Picture Archiving and Communication System - Medical Imaging) Windows Server 2003/2008 Admin VMware Virtualization Virtual Private Networking Microsoft Exchange Server Admin

Bryan Conn's Experience:

  • Consultant at The Rogosin Institute

After years as a Staff Scientist and Study Director, I was available to provide any needed support for Rogosin's cancer macrobead cancer therapy that I was involved in as the pre-clinical Study Director.

  • Scientist at The Rogosin Institute

-Support successful transition of pre-clinical oncology treatment into clinical trials -Molecular biology of cancer and cancer stem cell project -Study Director, FDA regulated pre-clinical studies of novel cancer therapy and successful Investigational New Drug (IND) application for Phase-I human clinical trials

  • Founder/Owner at Business Backwards LLC

This new LLC organizes two of my current professional interests. The first interest being providing IT/Remote Networking services, predominately, but not exclusively, to the telemedicine industry (PACS/DICOM admin and deployment for teleradiology). The other pursuit that is sort of crammed under this umbrella is our Internet retail sales and marketing business, which focuses on bringing exclusive tech products to under reached markets. The push in 2012 will be towards regionally facing global webstores that combines with international warehousing and fulfillment, allowing for low-cost regional shipping to foreign markets.
